As your coaches, we want to help bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

We can work with you face to face or remotely so no matter where you are we can help you to be happy, healthy and make achievable changes to your life.

Janet Cox

Private trainer

I have more than 15 years of experience helping people build stronger and healthier bodies.


I am a Netfit qualified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. I also have a keen interest and good knowledge in sports nutrition, anatomy and sports physiology.

I strongly believe in encouraging habits that are life changing.

I also actively take part and compete in events such as the Kepler Challenge Mountain Run, Le Race 100km Road Cycle, the Contact Epic Mountain Biking event and many half marathons.


Jan Aitken

life coach

I am a NZ Registered nurse with over 35 years experience and a qualified Life Coach with over 17 years experience.


I trained at the coaching school CoachU completing the Advanced Coach Training Programme.


I’m presently studying for a Diploma in Clinical Advanced Hypnotherapy and am an accredited Gallup Strengthsfinders (Top 5) coach. I write a fortnightly column for the Otago Daily Times weekend magazine “The Mix”.

Before I became a Life Coach, while working as a Registered Nurse, I noticed that people’s outlooks had a huge impact on their outcomes, health and quality of life, That motivated me to want to work with people in a more holistic way.



At Fit for Life we care about helping you identify and reach your goals. We will tailor our services to you to fit in with your work and life commitments. This means providing remote coaching if you are not in the Dunedin area, or if would prefer to train in your own home. If you choose to come in to see us, we will welcome you to our private studio

The most important thing for us as coaches is to help you structure your programme in order for you to achieve the best possible results. The foundation of a successful programme is the connection we can make together, to create an environment of trust and support. 

We offer a free initial consultation so that you can be sure we are the right fit for you. If we aren't, we can give you some suggestions of others who may be better suited. 

We do this because we know that the best and more lasting changes are made when people are comfortable to push their own limits.

personal training

One on one personal training, tailored to you, your goals and your abilities.

Come train in our private studio, at Les Mills Gym in central Dunedin, or become a Fit for Life member and have access to a library of remote resources.


life coaching

Life coaching is a proactive way of making changes in your life and building a strong foundation to base that life on. It’s all about you.

Sessions can be undertaken face to face, over the phone or over remote conferencing. 


fit for forces

Specific training for those who want to enter the Police, Fire Service, Army, Navy or Airforce.

Our Fit for Forces programme is the only one of its kind in New Zealand, and we have 10 years of experience helping candidates prepare and succeed on fitness entry tests. 

We can work together face to face or remotely to anywhere in New Zealand.


Workshops & seminars

Seminars for groups & workplaces can be tailored to suit individual workplace or group needs. 

We can provide a programme of life coaching, private training or a combination of both.
