Janet Cox - Personal Trainer
Janet grew up in the city of Manchester in northern England, longing to be in a place where it was easy and inexpensive to pursue outdoor activities. In 1994, Janet fulfilled her dream and moved to Dunedin, New Zealand.
Once there, she lost no time getting her feet wet in various water sports - including white-water kayaking, canoeing, canoe polo and rowing - she's a passionate oarswoman! In her own time Janet actively trains and participates in multi-sport and endurance races. But she wasn't always the gleaming example of fitness she is today.
Once upon a time Janet entered a 10k road running race, despite the fact that at this point she could barely jog for 15 minutes at a time and weighed 85kg. As she trained, she got fitter and lost weight. Janet completed the race and started to feel really good about herself. This gave her the motivation to join a gym. During the next twelve months, she lost 25kg and ran a number of 10k and half-marathon races.
Since then, Janet has taken up road cycling and swimming and she's competed in an Iron Man event and the Kepler Challenge (60km mountain run).
The increased energy, better health, lower blood pressure and cholesterol level that come with a more active lifestyle, inspired Janet to help others who want to make a commitment to their own health and well-being. She left her career in the Information Technology field to work in the health and fitness industry.
Janet has worked as a Personal Trainer since 2003. She helps people like you move toward their own fitness goals, whether those include walking more effortlessly through your everyday life or climbing the tallest peaks!
